ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council member Ghulam Shah Naqvi has aid that the government will provide every possible facility to the people affected by last year’s earthquake to protect them against the harsh winter season.

Speaking in a PTV programme on Thursday, he lauded the efforts of President Pervez Musharraf, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and the Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority for providing facilities to the affected people.

He said it was a big challenge but most of the affected people had been shifted to shelters.

He said the earthquake survivors had received first instalment of Rs25,000 for reconstruction of their homes and most of them had also received the second and third instalments. He said medical and school facilities had been fully restored in the affected areas in AJK.—APP
