Town cancels staff holiday

PESHAWAR, Oct 19: The Peshawar town-I nazim has cancelled the Eid holidays of the sanitation and water supply staff and directed the employees to remain on duty in all union councils to provide round the clock service to people on the occasion.

Presiding over a meeting on Thursday, Nazim Haji Shaukat Ali, said stern action would be taken against employees who did not follow orders.

The meeting finalised a duty plan, according to which they would perform in two shifts to react in emergency during Eid days. The nazim directed all tube well operators to remain present on the sites during the holidays. He instructed the mechanical superintendent to keep in order all the vehicles of the council.

REMISSION: Inspector General of Prisons, NWFP, Fazalur Rehman on Thursday granted 60 days remissions to all convicted prisoners (except NAB prisoners) in the province on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.
