LARKANA, Oct 19: Two policemen were killed and another was injured when a police team came under fire in Hamzo Jatoi village on Thursday.

The police team had gone to the village to arrest some criminals.

Shabbir Jatoi of the village had lodged a complaint with police alleging that some of his relatives had damaged their crop. He informed police on Thursday morning that criminals who had damaged the crop were present in the village on the outskirts of Larkana.

He requested police to accompany him for arresting them.

As soon as the police team in a private jeep arrived at the village, the outlaws opened indiscriminate firing on it.

As a result, ASI Qamaruddain Gopang and constable Zulfikar Malgani were killed on the spot and constable Mihal Rahoojo was injured.

The injured was admitted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital.

The nimaz-i-jinaza of the deceased police personnel was held in the district police headquarters and bodies were sent to their houses in Larkana and Bero Chandio.
