DERA GHAZI KHAN, Oct 18: The Saddar police on Wednesday instituted a case against 60 students of the Government College Dera Ghazi Khan for damaging public property and throwing traffic out of gear.
The students were earlier demonstrating to press the government to commence the Seraiki classes at the college.
Reports said a large number of students assembled in front of the college under the banner of the Seraiki Qaumi Movement’s student wing and blocked the road to traffic. They broke the windscreen of a bus and tried to create law and order situation. A female commuter suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a police contingent reached the troubled spot and dispersed the protesters. Later, the Saddar police registered a case against 60 students on the charge of disrupting peace.
MQM: The MQM has constituted its district organising committee here on Wednesday.
Dr Rao Abu Bakar, a member of the MQM provincial organising committee, presided over a meeting which constituted the local body.
