KARACHI, Oct 18: The hygienic conditions at the K-1 auction hall of the Karachi Fish Harbour would be improved in order to bring it at par with those being maintained as per the European Union standards.
This was stated at a joint meeting of Karachi Fish Harbour Authority (KFHA) and the Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) held here on Wednesday to consider steps towards ensuring good working relationship between the two institutions.
KFHA Managing Director Dr Mohammad Nawaz Baloch represented Authority whereas In-charge of the FCS Vigilance Committee Ahmed Zameer Advocate represented the Society.

The meeting reviewed conditions at the K-1 Hall established to give a boost to the country’s seafood exports to the EU countries. It was decided that movement of unconcerned people in the hall would be put to an end and those responsible for undermining hygienic conditions in the hall would be penalised after being handed over to police.—PPI
