Wapda team faces hostile villagers

KASUR, Oct 17: Villagers thrashed the members of a raiding Wapda team and later locked them in a room on Tuesday. Wapda Superintendent Malik M Afzal told police that on receiving information that one Saleem was involved in power theft, he dispatched a raiding team to check the crime. The team caught the accused red-handed while he was stealing electricity.

When the team members tried to nab the accused, he along with his accomplices thrashed them and then locked them in a room of their outhouse.

Later, some villagers released the team.

The police have registered a case.

BODY FOUND: A headless body of a man was found in the fields in Allahabad police station limits.

Reports said, a farmer told the police that he had found a headless body of a middle-aged man lying in the fields.

The police had sent the body to the city morgue after preliminary investigations.
