HYDERABAD, Oct 17: The vice-chancellor of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Prof Jan Mohammad Memon, has expressed pride in the university having been rated as the second best medical university of the country.

Among all the 55 universities of the country, the LUMHS stood at number 10 and at 2nd among medical universities as per the ranking announced by the Higher Education Commission, the VC said while speaking at an Iftar party he had hosted to celebrate the honour at Jamshoro campus on Sunday evening.

The feat was made possible by the university teachers’ untiring efforts, students’ devotion and cooperation from people at large, he said.

Thanking the HEC, federal and provincial governments, governor, chief minister and his cabinet members for their support, he said that the university had lived up to peoples’ expectations within a short span of time and was prepared to meet any challenge.
