KARACHI: Nazim seeks PC-1 for water projects in Gulshan


KARACHI, Oct 17: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has called for preparing PC-1 in respect of all union councils of Gulshan-i-Iqbal where water and sewerage network has not been laid as yet.Addressing a meeting of nazims and naib nazims of union councils of Gulshan Town and their officials on Monday night, he said that the resources of water board or the town would be utilised for the project.

He called for removing the encroachments on drains coming from old sabzi mandi and gearing up the work on water and sewerage lines.

Asking KWSB officials to work in coordination with the town administration, he pointed out that objective of devolving water board to town level was to have close liaison with the town nazim, who was accountable to people and problems of people were timely solved. He said if the town nazim would have any cause of complaint, action would be taken against the engineer concerned.

The nazim directed the water board to identify the areas where water and sewerage facilities were not available. He said that every house would be provided tap water. However, he said, this needed phase-wise completion of work.

Besides, he said that the contractors showing lethargy would be dispensed with.

Later, Gulshan Town Nazim Wasay Jalil gave a detailed briefing to City Nazim Mustafa Kamal regarding ongoing works in the town.—APP
