ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: Pakistan on Monday received eight prisoners released by the US authorities from the Gauntanamo Bay prison and the Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan, National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) director Col Imran told Dawn.

Two of the Pakistani prisoners had been repatriated from Gauntanamo Bay and the rest from Bagram, he said.

They arrived here on a special plane via Afghanistan. Immediately after their arrival, they were detained again by authorities for “debriefing session”, Col Imran said.

“They are in good health,” Col Imran said in response to a question about the health of the prisoners.
