KARACHI: Promotions, transfers

By A Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 16: Teachers of the city government schools have expressed concern over the delay in their promotions and asked the education department to regularize the matters relating to promotions and awarding of grades.

Talking to Dawn, scores of teachers said that they were senior most and had the right to be awarded further grades and promotion, but the system had been paralyzed due to promotions of undeserving persons. They said that this trend had created a sense of deprivation in the teachers’ community.

Many teachers said that they had about completed their time of service, but could not get their advanced grades and promotions, as they had no personal relations with the officials concerned, nor they could bribe anyone for the purpose. They urged the city nazim to intervene and redress their grievances.
