KARACHI: Man shot dead

KARACHI, Oct 16: A young man was shot dead in New Karachi Industrial Area for resisting cell phone snatching on Monday night.

Police said Sharfuddin, 28, was sitting outside his house after iftar when two suspects on a motorcycle came close to him and tried to snatch his cell phone.

As he tried to resist them, the suspects pumped a bullet and fled taking away his cell phone.

The victim was rushed to Abbasi Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

ARRESTED: A dacoit was arrested by police who was carrying out a holdup at a clinic in Peerabad area on Monday night.

Police said two armed suspects came to a clinic of Dr Abdus Salam in New Mianwali Colony. Someone informed the police on 15.

Subsequently police reached and held a suspect Fazal Saeed and recovered arms and looted cash.
