LAHORE, Oct 13: The Lahore High Court on Friday summoned the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council secretary for Oct 16 on a petition for cancellation of licenses of all negligent doctors across the country.
The court directed the secretary to explain what steps had been taken so far in this regard.
Petitioner Khalida Khatoon through M.D Tahir advocate submitted that her son Kamran, a kidney patient, had died due to negligence of doctors at a private hospital in Rawalpindi.
She contended that doctors had left a tube in the abdomen of her son which led to infection that caused his death. She requested the court to take notice of the criminal negligence by doctors and substandard treatment meted to her son. —APP
