Explosions in Quetta, Nushki

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Oct 13: Three powerful explosions took place in the provincial capital and Nushki, some 150 km of here, late on Thursday. A rocket fired from the west of Quetta landed and exploded on the White Road just behind the Governor House, causing panic in the area.

The explosion caused a three-foot deep crater on the road. However, no casualty was reported. It was a 107mm rocket fired, police said.

The second explosion occurred in Khrotabad, a locality in the outskirts of the provincial capital. Police said a home-made device planted close to a water pumping station in Khrotabad exploded on Thursday night.

As a result walls of the pumping station and a nearby hotel were damaged. However, no casualty was reported.

Another report reaching here said that a powerful blast took place close to a tile factory and damaged its wall and main gate. The factory is owned by one Mohammad Manzoor.

It was a home-made time-bomb, police said, adding that no one claimed responsibility for the three blasts.
