LAHORE, Oct 12: Four Jordanians involved in a brawl with the Pakistani fans and police officials during the Asia Cup football qualifier between Jordan and Pakistan at the Punjab Stadium on Wednesday were released after they tendered apology on Thursday.
Sami Al Muthari, Sohaib M Saleh, Mohammed Shitanvi and Usama Usman admitted at a press conference that they overreacted against a Pakistani fan during the match.
One of them, who had entered the pitch during the match to avoid baton-charge by police, also apologized for his improper behaviour.
PFF administrator Col Ahmad Yar said the situation went out of control because of insufficient police officials deployed at the venue.
Some five spectators, including three Jordanians and two Pakistanis were injured in a brawl during the second half.
