KARACHI, Oct 12: Bounce Club inflicted a 47-23 defeat on Neighbourhood United first division in their last league match to top pool ‘A’ in the Neighbourhood United Ramazan basketball tournament at Arambagh floodlight court on Wednesday night.

The winners opened on the aggressive note and raced to lead 24-4 at the end of first quarter. The pace was slowed down which is reflected from the second quarter 13-4 score.

On resumption, Neighbourhood first division capitalised some scoring chances to lead the third quarter 9-2 but Bounce Club sealed the fate winning the last quarter 8-6.

Samir shone for the winners by scoring 13 points to be followed by Meraj 8. Sameel and Shariq scored 7 and 4 for losers.

In the other match Neighbourhood Varsity, the senior string, humbled Arambagh Club 65-47 to emerge pool ‘B’ champion. The winners led 30-24 at half time.

Hammad was the main architect of his team’s triumph with 19 points. Zain Tariq and Shakir were also brilliant scoring 14 points apiece. Adnan scored 8 points for Arambagh.

Bounce Club is drawn to meet Arambagh Club while Neighbourhood United Varsity takes on Neighbourhood United first division in the two semi-finals.
