LAHORE, Oct 12: Lahore police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a terrorist from the Lorry Adda and recovered four hand-grenades from his possession.

According to a police spokesman, Muhammad Umer Abdullah Sindhi is said to have connections with Al-Qaeda. He said the accused had planned a sabotage activity in the city on the eve of Eidul Fitr.

On a tip-off that a terrorist was coming from Wana with dangerous weapons, a special team constituted by DIG (investigation) Muhammad Azam Joyia and led by CIA SP Masood Aziz arrested Sindhi near a patrol pump.

The accused is being interrogated, and investigation teams have been constituted for the arrest of his accomplices.

The Capital City police chief has announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for the raiding team. —Reporter
