Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 12: Five ships carrying soyabean oil and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves gathered a momentum as half a dozen ships were berthed. They are: Global Progress, Iran Hesabi, Y.M. Fortune, Hyundai Highway, to unload and load containers, Pacific Primate, to offload coal, and Haje Khereh, to unload and load general cargo.

Five vessels, Iran Hesabi, APL Jabel Ali, Hyundai Highway, Pacific Sun-2 and Shalamar, departed on Thursday, while Al-Mukhtarah, Corin Thaikos, Heje Khereh, Y.M. Fortune, Lauren, Global Progress, PAC Antlia and Pacific Jade are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 80,692 tons comprising 13,114 tons of export cargo and 67,578 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.

The following ships are due on Friday: Bryggen, with soyabean oil, Tower Bridge, and Maersk Arkansas, with containers and China Trader, with coal.
