NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Oct 11: The district council of Naushahro Feroze met here on Wednesday with Mr Ali Khan Almani in the chair.

Speaking at the meeting, Farooq Lodhi, nazim of the Union Council of Mehrabpur, accused the EDO Agriculture of embezzling funds in the purchase of agriculture machinery.

The member alleged that he had failed to control the sale of substandard pesticides in the district.

The Nazim of Mohabbat Dero union council, Abdul Ghaffar Dehraj, condemned the unannounced load-shedding in different areas during Ramazan.

Mohammad Hayat Phul, Nazim of the Phul union council, said that despite having sufficient funds no sports activities were being organised in schools.

A member, Nadir Kaleri, said that contractors were not completing construction of road in Kandiaro.

The members offered fateha on the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

DEMO: Councillors of the union Council of Darya Khan Mari staged a demonstration against implication of some people in a murder case here on Wednesday.

They were led by Darya Khan Mari union council Nazim Ghulam Sarwar Wagan, Rizwan Ahmed, councillor Tahiruddin and others.

The protesters were carrying placards and were raising slogans against the police.

They complained that Padidan police had implicated some people of the area in the murder case of Mohammad Ayoub Mirzai.

They demanded withdrawal of the case against them.

INJURED: Eight people were injured in a road accident near Kandiaro on Wednesday.

According to reports, a wagon while saving a motorcyclist near the Syed Cotton Factory in Kandiaro dashed into an electric pole as a result of which eight people sustained injuries.

The injured, including Zulfiqar, Kirshan, Sono Khan, Munawar Bhutto, Nasir, Nadir, Wazeer and Punhoon, were admitted to the taluka hospital, Kandiaro.

No FIR was lodged till the filing of the report.
