‘Edible oil prices not to be increased’

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 11: Pakistan Edible Oil Refiners Association (PEORA) chairman Mian Mohammad Hanif said that despite the increase in edible oil prices in the international market, the association had decided not to increase the rates here during Ramazan.

According to the press release, he said the association had been in touch with the government regulatory agencies and marketing functionaries to monitor the availability of edible oil in the country.

He said with the cooperation of the edible oil refineries, he did not foresee any shortage during the month of Ramazan.

Mr Hanif said the refining industry had timely made all arrangements to maintain the regular supply of edible oil to the consumers and the Ghee industry.

In a move to support the government efforts to supply edibles to the consumers at reasonable prices, he said the association had announced a Ramazan package and reduced the prices of its products.
