BAHAWALPUR, Oct 9: A villager allegedly killed his nine-month old daughter on Sunday night by throwing acid on her.

He reportedly committed the gruesome act to teach his ex-wife a lesson for getting divorce from him.

The incident took place in Mauza Qadir Baksh near Sammasatta, about 15km from here.

The police said Hanif brought her ailing daughter for treatment from his former wife Sajida, who was living with her parents after divorce.

On Sajida’s report, Sammasatta police have registered a murder case against Hanif who is at large.
