Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 9: Berthing and sailing activity on the Karachi port was maintained on the higher side on Monday where a dozen ships got berths and departed, according to KPT sources.

The ships, which were berthed included Kota Perkasa, Yang Jiang He, Mega-2, Gallant Wave, Wan Hai-306, Oel Victory, and Corin Thaikos, to unload and load containers.

They were followed by Emerald Coral Ji Qing Men, Asian Rosalie, to unload steel and steel pipes, and Johar, to unload crude oil.

The departing vessels were led by Maersk Arkansas, CMA CGM Victory, Manhattan Princess, Gagasan Melaka, Eric G. Gibson, Yang Jiang He, Orient Independence, Asian Rosalie, Lalazar, Emerald Coral, Z Mega-2, Wan Hai-306 and Gallant Wave, while Oel Victory, Chi Feng Kou and Ji Qing Men are due to sail out on Tuesday.

A total tonnage of 0.221m tons comprising 30,831 tons of export cargo and 0.190m tons of import tonnage was handled during the last two days.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Al-Mukhtrah, with 55,000 tons of high-speed diesel, Hyundai Highway and APL Jable Ali, with containers.
