KARACHI, Oct 7: Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) on Saturday named a 10-member team for a demonstration cricket match against their Indian counterparts during the Shanghai Invitational Games being held in the Chinese city from Oct 10 to 19.

Accompanied by four officials, the squad is due to fly to Dubai on way to Shanghai on Tuesday. The maiden trip will help prepare the strong Pakistan team for next month’s International Cricket Cup tournament which takes place at Mumbai from Nov 6 to 13, chairman SOP, Saeed Ahmed, told a press conference on Saturday.

He also announced three teams including one of women which will travel to India to compete against Australia, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and the hosts.

Squad for Shanghai:

Mohammad Awais Ashraf (captain), Farhan Ghori (vice-captain), Mohammad Mujahid Khan, Zohair Ali, Arsalan Rizwani, Mustafa (w. k), Mohammad Yasir Zeeshan Khaliq, Imran Khan, Mohammad Ibrar and Qadeer Hussain.

Officials: Mahfooz Elahi (leader), Shaheda Hyder (assistant leader), Arif Hussain (head coach), Irfan Anwar (coach).
