Seven Lashkar men acquitted of murder in Multan

MULTAN, Oct 7: An Anti-Terrorism court on Thursday acquitted seven alleged members of outlawed Lashkar-i-Jhangvi in a murder case for lack of evidence.

Judge Nazar Hussain Khokhar acquitted Maulvi Zubair, Muhammad Yousaf, Maulvi Ghulam Shabir, Shahid Khan, Nazir Ahmed, Maulvi Abdullah and Muhammad Saleem.

According to prosecution, 10 people had killed trader

Akhtar Hussain Jafari, his son Akbar Hussain Jafari and friend Mukhtar in

Khairpur Tamewali town in Bahawalpur district on April 29, 2004.

One of the accused, Arshad, was released after the complainants pardoned him while another, Amanat, is a proclaimed.

The 10th accused was executed in another murder case.
