KARACHI: Directive issued to streamline mega projects


KARACHI, Oct 7: City Nazim on Saturday ordered stream-lining of Karachi Mega City Project with the master plan.

He was speaking at a review meeting of Asian Development Bank regarding its $400 million loan for mega projects in Karachi.

DCO Karachi Fazlur Rehman, MD Water Board Brig Iftikhar Haider, Mega Project Director Roshan Ali Sheikh, all EDOs and officials concerned attended the meeting.

The City Nazim noted that the Karachi Master Plan had been prepared keeping all future needs till 2020; therefore, it must be ensured that all mega projects must be devised in accordance with it.

Approval has been granted by the ADB regarding

mega projects so all departments should submit their recommendations within a week to accelerate work on the study so that it could be streamlined with the master plan, he said.—PPI
