LAHORE, Oct 6: A fine century by Zeeshan Mushtaq enabled Islamabad to earn a 192-run lead in the first innings against Sialkot on the second day of the PCB Inter-region U-19 cricket tournament at Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot on Friday.
Zeeshan struck 196-ball 164 as Islamabad scored 364-9 in 73.3 overs to declare the innings, in reply to Sialkot first innings total 172. Zeeshan hit 16 boundaries and three sixes during a stay of 233 minutes at the crease.
By close of play, Sialkot were 70-2 in the second innings and they need 102 more runs to avoid an innings defeat.
Half-centuries from Usman Salahuddin (68) and Ali Haider (62) helped Lahore Ravi gain a slim six-run lead against Peshawar at the LCCA ground.
Usman cracked seven fours while Ali Haider laced his knock with nine strokes to the fence as Lahore Ravi collected a total of 302-8 while replying to Peshawar first innings total of 296.
At stumps, Peshawar were 21 without any loss in the second innings. An undefeated century by Zeeshan Maqsood and equally fine knock by opener Junaid Iqbal gave Multan a first innings lead of 41 runs against Hyderabad at Multan Stadium.
Zeeshan scored 107 with nine boundaries off 201 balls. Junaid struck 81-ball 78 with 11 fours and one six as Multan earned a first innings total of 248 against rivals' 207.
The defiant duo leg-spinners Mohammad Sharif (6-58) and Azeem Ghumman (4-53), who shared all ten wickets between them.
Hyderabad were 57-4 in the second innings when stumps were drawn for the day.
