LAHORE, Oct 6: ILO Office for Pakistan has denied that its Sialkot representative has spoken to any journalist on the issue of child labour in surgical industry.
Referring to a report, `ILO paints bleak picture of child labourers’ (published on Oct 2), it said “since May 2003 ILO has not carried out any such survey. Moreover, ILO surveys are not designed to sensationalise an issue but to gather baseline data that informs national planning and programming.”
