UAE Red Crescent to give $0.26m to Unicef

ISLAMABAD, Oct 6: The United Arab Emirates Red Crescent (UAE RC) would provide $260,000 to the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) for establishing a fully-equipped health facility in the quake-affected areas.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed here on Friday by UAE RC Director Projects and Development Abdullah Mohammad Al Mahmood, and Officer-in-Charge Unicef Pakistan Terje Thodesen.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Mahmood said the UAE RC was working with Unicef in a number of countries and had provided financial and material support to the organisation to establish educational facilities for quake-affected children in the camps.
