PML fulfilled all promises, says Pervaiz

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Oct 6: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi said on Friday the PML was implementing the social-welfare agenda according to its manifesto and it had fulfilled all its promises made with people.

The success of the PML candidate in the by-election to a Lahore provincial assembly seat indicated people’s support to the party. The PML had won the election through unity in its ranks, discipline and hardwork by its members, he said while speaking to the city office-bearers and workers of the party here.

Communication Minister Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, Information Technology Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Lahore Nazim Mian Amer Mehmood, Special Education Minister Qudsia Lodhi, PML Lahore President Mian Munir Ahmad, MPA-elect Naveed Ashiq Dyal and other MNAs and MPAs were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister said the PML had become a strong political force because of its democratic aspect and positive course of action. He said that was why it had a landslide victory in the by-election to the Punjab Assembly’s Lahore seat.

By winning the election, the PML had proved that it was the only political party which had roots in people. He said strengthening of the PML guaranteed solidarity of the country.

He said the PML had created the country and it was now making it a real modern Islamic state. The PML government was pursuing an unprecedented development programme for the progress of the people and improving their living standard.

The chief minister attributed the PML victory in the by-election to its steps taken for the progress and development of people. The PML-N was defeated because it had not done anything for the good of the people of the constituency.

He congratulated the PML workers and office-bearers on the party’s victory in the by-election and said they would have to maintain the same spirit, unity and discipline in the general election.

The chief minister asked his partymen to strengthen the PML primary units. PML office-bearers and councillors had been included in the development process and this trend would continue in future. He said the government would back them so that they could better serve the people.

Chaudhry Zaheeruddin said the PML had the capability to meet all challenges and that was why it had been organised at all levels.

Mian Amer said the chief minister had provided record funds for the development of the constituency, PP-157, which had accelerated the pace of development and given relief to people.
