KARACHI: Non-stop power supply to pumping stations urged
KARACHI, Oct 6: The town nazim of Shah Faisal, Mohammed Imran, has called for exempting the four water supply pumping stations in the town from power loadshedding so that smooth water supply could be maintained to all areas of the town.
He said that a comprehensive plan be chalked out to contain the unrest among the people caused by prolong power cuts. The town nazim was speaking at a joint meeting of in charge underground works, KESC deputy GM operation and other officials concerned here on Friday.
He urged the KESC to avoid loadshedding during sehri and iftari timings and asked the KESC officials to chalk out an elaborate plan for permanent solution of the public problems.
He stressed the need for coordination between KESC, KWSB and TMA for protection of the town infrastructure.
GULSHAN TOWN: The land department of Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town on Friday removed encroachments from different parts of the town. According to details, the anti-encroachment team removed more than 150 pushcarts, cabins, stalls of fruit and vegetable and other encroachments from the main road at PIB Colony.
It took into custody 25 tables of roadside restaurants from UC-10. It also removed more than 15 stalls and pushcarts of fruit and vegetable from Sherpao Colony, Ameer Khusroo Road.Meanwhile, the town administration of Gulshan-e-Iqbal launched its newsletter “Gulshan News” on Friday.
The quarterly newsletter would provide the details of progress of different uplift projects and town activities.—APP/PPI
