Shoaib yet to sign contract

Published October 6, 2006

LAHORE, Oct 5: Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has not yet signed the central contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The central contract has been implemented on other players from July 1, 2006.

Sources told Dawn that Shoaib was reluctant to sign the contract, mainly, due to one of the clauses of the central contract, which refrains players from appearing in the advertisements of those companies whose business has conflict of interest with those, which have sponsorship agreement with the PCB.
