ISLAMABAD, Oct 5: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon on Thursday said there existed a lot of potential and opportunities for cooperation between Pakistan and Romania in the hydrocarbon and mineral sectors to the mutual advantage.

He was talking to Charge d’Affaires of Romania Mircca Humuz, who paid a courtesy call on the minister and discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the minister said that the government was according top priority to the speedy development of the energy sector. He briefed the Romanian diplomat about the development activities in the fields of oil, gas and minerals.

He said that an attractive package of incentives was being offered to the investors for inland and offshore oil and gas exploration and the Romanian companies can participate in these activities.

Jadoon recalled the Romanian cooperation in setting up of National Refinery in Karachi and said that both countries could benefit from each others’ experience in this vital field.—APP
