POA conducts basketball elections

LAHORE, Oct 4: Provincial minister for law Mohammad Basharat Raja and Lt Col (retd) Nasim Butt were unanimously elected as president and secretary of the Pakistan Amateur Basketball Federation for a term of four years on Wednesday.

The Pakistan Olympic Association conducted the elections on the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

A three-member POA election committee comprising Khawaja Farooq Saeed, Abdul Khaliq Khan and Lt Col (retd) Mohammad Yahya supervised the election process.

Office-bearers: Mohammad Basharat Raja (president), Col Shujaat Rana (senior vice-president), Haji Bazgul, Iftikhar Hussain Sheikh, Tariq Saleem Dogar (vice presidents), Lt Col Nasim Butt (secretary), Abdul Jawad, Lt Col Ramzan Asif (associate secretaries), Mohammad Naeem (treasurer); and one representative each from Balochistan, Islamabad, Railways and HEC for the executive committee.—APP
