PESHAWAR, Oct 4: Participants of a meeting held here on Wednesday to discuss the establishment of an information technology laboratory in the Peshawar Public School recommended that the provincial government should cooperate in opening information technology labs in private schools in the province.

The meeting presided over by NWFP Information Technology Minister Hussain Ahmad Kanju recommended that a summary in this regard should be sent for the approval of the chief minister through the education department.

The minister said the aim of the creation of a separate information technology department was to promote IT culture and introduce transparent governance in the province.

He said his department would facilitate and extend all possible technical and financial assistance to the government as well as private institutions.—APP
