MULTAN, Oct 4: The Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, on Wednesday gave two weeks to the SHO of Sahiwal’s Noor Shah police station to recover the son of a woman who was kidnapped some 17 months ago.

Fatima Bibi stated in her petition that Saeed, Shahbaz, and Alam Sher had kidnapped her son and injured another. She submitted that police had registered a case against the accused on a court order. She said the court had also turned down their bail applications.

She said the respondent police officials were neither arresting the accused nor were they able to recover his son Yaseen despite the passage of 17 months.

The Noor Shah police SHO appeared before the court on Wednesday and sought some time to recover the kidnapped son of the petitioner.

Counsel representing respondents Saeed, Shahbaz and Alam Sher undertook to cooperate with the police to locate the kidnapped person.

Justice Mohammad Sayeed Akhtar gave two weeks to the police to recover the abductee and adjourned the case until Oct 18.

WIDOW’S SHOPS: The Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, on Wednesday ordered Jehanian police to produce a person before the court on Oct 18, who was occupying two shops of a widow.

Mst Zohraan Mai said she owned shops in a bazaar and had three daughters. She said she made her living on rent of the shops. She said she filed an ejectment suit against shopkeepers after she decided to build a market in place of shops.

After some time in litigation, she said she reached a compromise with the shopkeepers who promised to vacate the shops after 20 months.

She said three shopkeepers had left the shops but the respondent Ahmad refused to do so despite the passage of one and half years after completion of the 20-month period.
