ISLAMABAD, Oct 4: The Pakistan Muslim League has issued a ticket to former provincial minister Maqbool Sheikh to contest the by-elections to the Sindh Assembly from Shikarpur (PS-11).
The ticket was issued with consultation and consent of Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, a press release said.
The party organization in Sindh has been directed to work for the success of Mr Shaikh.
Maqbool Sheikh is brother of Imtiaz Ahmad Sheikh who was sacked as provincial revenue minister in February 2005 after developing differences with Mr Rahim. Both of them traded charges of corruption.
Mr Hussain was annoyed with Mr Rahim over the removal of Imtiaz Sheikh without consulting him. It is believed that the chief minister had got an approval for the action from President General Pervez Musharraf.
