MIRPURKHAS, Oct 4: A clash between Rajput and Marwari groups left some 16 men injured, one seriously, in Aurangabad on Tuesday night.
Report reaching here said that it started with exchange of hot words over Rs70, a man from one group owed the other, and soon spiralled into a fight with iron rods, sticks and bricks leaving Mehboob, Amir, Aslam, Abdul Qayoom, Mehmood, Mangta, Naved, Babar Ali, Mehfooz, Ashraf Hazarvi, Nedi and many others injured.
They were rushed to the civil hospital, Mirpurkhas. The condition of Mehboob who was later referred to Hyderabad is stated to be serious.
The Satellite Town police have lodged a case under sections 147, 148, 149 and 504 of the PPC on the complaint of Abdul Qayyum Rajput.
DCO: District Coordination Officer Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah directed the officials on Wednesday to ensure materials being used in ongoing schemes of water supply and drainage were of good quality.
The DCO while presiding over a meeting of the project monitoring committee to review the pace of work directed the project director to divert the flow of sewage towards natural nullahs.

The project director told the meeting that 28 per cent work on the water supply and 10 per cent work on the drainage schemes had completed.

WOMAN ASSAULTED: A married woman told police on Sunday that she had been sexually assaulted near Karachi Hotel in Mirwah a couple of days ago.
Rasheeda, wife of Mir Khan, stated in an FIR filed under section 10/3 Zina Hudood Ordinance that Ali Rajar and another unidentified man stopped her near the hotel when she and her brother were returning home from Saman Mori late on Friday night.
They made her brother flee and then raped her, she added.
