JACOBABAD, Oct 2: Two children drowned and their father was injured when a car fell into a fish pond near Taj Mohamaddani village in the Kandhkot police area on Sunday.

Rajo Khan Mamdani and his two sons were going in the car to Kandhkot.

He lost control of vehicle which fell into the fish pond.

Both the boys, five-year-old Tahir and seven-year-old Siddique, drowned in the pond. Rajo Mamdani was seriously injured.

The bodies were shifted to Taj Mohammadani village and the injured was admitted to the Kandhkot Taluka hospital for treatment.

KILLED: Gunmen killed a man in Abdul Hakeem Mazari village in the Gehalpur police area of the Kashmore district on Sunday.

Gulsher Mazari was in his village when five armed men opened fire killing him on the spot. The assailants escaped.

Police shifted the body to the Kashmore hospital for autopsy.

The motive behind the murder was said to be an old enmity.

The father of the deceased, Ghulam Nabi Mazari, lodged an FIR against five unidentified people at the Gehalpur police station.

CHILD RECOVERED: Police freed four-year-old Tabarak Ali Brohi from kidnappers on Sunday night.

DPO Munir Ahmed Khuhro told reporters that the child had been kept near Jafarabad, Dera Allahyar in Balochistan. Acting on a tip, a special police team rushed to the area and cordoned it off. They arrested some kidnappers whose names were not disclosed, he said.

Police brought the child and the kidnappers to Jacobabad and informed the child’s father, Ghulam Rasool Brohi, who took him home.

Mr Rasool said in response to the reporters’ queries that he had not paid any ransom to get his child released.

ARRESTED: Police arrested a motorbike-snatcher, Bashir alias Taimoor Shaikh, after a brief encounter near a railway crossing in the jurisdiction of the Civil Line police station on Monday.

Reports reaching here said that some robbers snatched motorcycle from Zahid Jamali near Station Road and sped away on it to the railway crossing where they got stuck up because the gate was closed.
