KARACHI, Oct 2: As man as 5,288 candidates out of the 6,167 registered have cleared the entry test 2006-07 of the NED University of Engineering and Technology, said Prof Dr Mahmood Khan Pathan, the chairman of admission committee on Monday.

He said that the percentage of candidates, who qualified the test held on October 1, was 87 per cent.

In all 4,810 students of pre-engineering and 1,235 of the pre-medical group appeared in the entry test, out of which

3,028 males and 1,034 women belonging to the pre-engineering group and another 206 males and 1,020 women belonging to the pre-medical group were declared successful in the test.

The process of admission to the engineering programme of the varsity began on Monday with the sale of admission forms and prospectus.

Last date for submission of admission forms has been fixed as October 28, added Prof Pathan, who is also the dean of science, technology and humanities of the varsity.
