MOSCOW, Oct 2: A deal to combine Russian aluminium companies Rusal and Sual to create a world-leading company in the sector is to be signed on Tuesday, the Interfax news agency reported on Monday, citing an unidentified source.
“The agreement will be signed tomorrow,” the source said, without saying whether the Swiss group Glencore International would be involved.
Earlier on Monday, the Wall Street Journal had reported that the deal would be inked “as early as today”.
According to the US business daily, Rusal would take over Sual and the aluminium assets of Glencore to create a group with a market capitalisation of $30bn.—AFP
