BJP wants Musharraf’s book banned

By Our Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Oct 1: The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a ban on President General Pervez Musharraf’s book ‘In the Line of Fire’, saying that the maps of Kashmir are wrongly depicted in it.

Junior Home Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal told Times Now TV on Sunday that the government would investigate how the book was allowed to be sold in India with its ‘objectionable’ maps showing Jammu and Kashmir under Indian control as a disputed territory.

“There are other discrepancies pertaining to the Siachen dispute,” claimed the channel.

BJP spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the book should not be allowed for sale in India with ‘wrong maps’.

About 8,000 copies of the book have been sold in the country.
