KARACHI, Oct 1: The city government health department launched a fumigation drive on Sunday. In the first phase of the drive launched on the directive of City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, germicides were sprayed at trade centres including Liaquatabad Super Market, Empress Market, Saddar, Lea Market Lyari, Nazimabad, Karimabad Market and other areas.
According to the health department, a schedule has been prepared for 18 towns of the city for fumigation.
Meanwhile, arrangements have been made to control hepatitis on the nazim’s directive.
In this regard, around 27,000 vaccines have been arranged for the Landhi Juvenile Jail inmates, who will be administered the vaccine against hepatitis from Oct 3 to 5.
In the second phase, the detainees of the central jail will be administered the injections.
