KARACHI, Oct 1: Sindh High Court Chief Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed on Saturday called for an academic faculty for the legal profession.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the 5th Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology Orientation Ceremony for LLB/BSc University of London External Programme here.
He said there was a requirement of a fulltime learning institution for the profession of law, which, he said, we do not have yet. He said the legal profession was indeed a very honourable field with complexity which required a great deal of personal applications of mind.
The chief of the SHC said the newcomers joining the profession of law in the country would hopefully do better in the years to come.
Earlier, presenting a welcome speech, Project Director of SZABIST Dr Javed Leghari said the institute had about 3,000 students in its four campuses -- Dubai, Karachi, Islamabad and Larkana.
Speaking on the occasion, British Council Director Marcus Gilbert said the British Council operated in a total of 109 countries allover the world, particularly, to promote and build bridge between the cultures of the United Kingdom and other countries.—APP
