ISLAMABAD, Sept 30: The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences have agreed to maintain close scientific cooperation for the advancement of agro-informatics in the country.
Under a memorandum of understanding signed by Dr M. E. Tasneem, PARC chairman, and Dr Amir Mohammad, rector FAST-NUCES, here on Saturday, both institutions would undertake and promote research and development (R&D) on agro-informatics, a hybrid discipline of agriculture and information technology.
They also agreed to strengthening the relevant scientific infrastructure that will help promote the capacity of these two institutions in joint advanced research in biotechnology, climate change, forecasting of crop production and water availability, etc.
