No problems with Holding, admits Lloyd

ST JOHN’S (Antigua), Sept 29: Chairman, Cricket Committee of West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and former West Indies Captain, Clive Lloyd says he has no problems with former team mate and fast bowler Michael Holding.

“We have been team-mates, friends and colleagues for over thirty years and we have never mistrusted each other. While we did not accept membership on Win World Cup Committee, we were both members of Cricket Committee. In terms of overall context of issues that have preoccupied public agenda over past few weeks, my position remains clear, Lloyd said on Thursday.

“I believe we cannot change the past or there is anything to be gained by rehashing issues that generate more heat than light. I made it clear in previous statement what my position was on issues raised in Holding's letter of resignation from Cricket Committee, and regard in which I hold him.”

Lloyd said both Holding and WICB president Kenneth Gordon are persons of integrity and while they may disagree on their interpretation of events, they both have in common their absolute and total dedication to West Indies cricket. —Agencies
