Kashmiri leaders under house arrest

ISLAMABAD, Sept 29: In occupied Kashmir, senior Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani, president of Democratic Freedom Party Shabbir Ahmad Shah and APHC leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan were On Friday placed under house arrest in Srinagar to prevent them from leading demonstrations against the Guru’s execution orders.

APHC leader, Shahid-ul-Islam, along with many Hurriyat activists was taken into custody in Srinagar while they were leading a demonstration against the verdict. Demonstrations were also staged at various places in Doda district to condemn the decision, PTV reported.

Meanwhile, Indian troops killed one more youth, at Ashmuqam. Gunmen shot dead a lady policewoman at Lolab. A special police officer committed suicide at Kishtwar. And in Geneva, speakers at an international seminar voiced their full support to Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.—APP
