DADU, Sept 29: The food department of Jamshoro district has submitted a report to the Sindh food secretary suggesting that 160,000 bags of wheat lying in the open in the premises of the Bholari food godown be moved to a safe placed. The reports says that if it was not done the government may suffer a loss of millions of rupees.

A team food department officials, comprising the deputy director of food, Hyderabad region, Saleemullah Siddiqui, and the District Food Controller Jamshoro, Zahid Baloch, visited 67 units of Bolhari godown and checked wheat bags lying in the open there.

The in-charge of Bolhari godown, Assistant Food Controller Zulfiqar Mallah, informed the team that a large quantity of wheat had been destroyed during recent rains.

He said that if the wheat stock was not shifted, the provincial government would incur losses of millions of rupees.

He said at least 50 workers, including sweepers and watchmen, should be deputed to look after wheat bags stored in the Bholari godown.
