KARACHI, Sept 29: Five ships carrying palm oil and project cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Calvin P. Titus, Corin Thaikos and Oel Aishwarya, to unload and load containers, Shina, to offload chemicals and Genuius Star-2, to unload and load general cargo, were berthed.

Sailing on the other hand was fairly brisk as 11 vessels departed. They are: Y.M. Moon, Hyundai Pride, Kota Mesra, Pacific Sun-2, Diamond Progress, Chitral, Diamond Trade Wind, Swat, MRC Coral, Shina and Al-Marwah.

Five other ships, Stlot Avnir, Calvin P. Titus, Genius Star, Maersk Arkansas and Sargodha are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was light owing to lesser handling of the liquid cargo, and fell to 39,054 tons comprising 5,030 tons of export cargo and 34,024 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Golden Fareast, with 7,800 tons of palm oil, Kama Bhum Cape Santiago, with containers, Manhattan Princess, with coal and Sinar Kudus, with project cargo.
