ISLAMABAD, Sept 28: The government on Thursday announced the appointment of Maj-Gen Tahir Mahmud Qazi as high commissioner to Malaysia.
According to an announcement, the army general has an MSc (war studies) from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and short operations research course from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.
In his military career, Mr Qazi has undertaken air defence staff course from School of Army Air Defence, securing first position. He is also a graduate of Command and Staff College, Quetta, and National Defence College, Islamabad.
His experiences included employment as instructor at School of Army Air Defence for two years.
He was chief of staff at headquarters, army air defence command, for two years and director military intelligence, general headquarters, for one year.
He was employed as director general personal services and provost marshal, adjutant general branch, GHQ, for three years and commanded an air defence regiment for two years, a brigade for two years, a division for three years and was presently commander army air defence.
Mr Qazi was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (military) for 37 years of meritorious service in the army.—Our Reporter
