KARACHI, Sept 27: Leaders of Markazi Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan Mohammad Ahmed Siddiqi, Ghulam Mohammad Sialvi and Tariq Mehboob termed a statement attributed to President Musharraf about Nishtar Park carnage rubbing salt in the wounds of heirs of Nishtar Park martyrs.
In a joint statement, they criticized the statement, which termed this tragedy a result of sectarian extremism and deplored that almost five months had elapsed, the government had failed to arrest the assassins responsible for killing more that 70 Ulema and others, besides unveiling those behind this heinous conspiracy.—PPI
