Baloch slams Musharraf

Published September 27, 2006

LAHORE, Sept 26: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal leader Liaquat Baloch has questioned the success claims made by Musharraf.

In a statement on Tuesday, he said the president had become a threat to the security and integrity of the country. He said that the military dictator had bowed to the US pressure on Afghanistan.

Crticising the US, he said on the one hand it claimed to be a champion of democracy while on the other it continued to support a dictator for its selfish interests.

He said the government policy towards India had put the nuclear programme in jeopardy, adding it had also failed on Kashmir and Afghanistan issues. —Staff Reporter
